Inclusive Sports: Police Hold Cricket Tourney for Specially-Abled Participants

Under the Civic Action Programme (CAP), Shopian Police concluded a Cricket Tournament for Specially-Abled Persons at Batapora Stadium, bringing together talented players from across South Kashmir. The tournament, which began on November 10, aimed to promote inclusivity, confidence and sportsmanship among specially-abled youth.


The event was inaugurated by SSP Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary, who encouraged the participants and reaffirmed the police department’s commitment to supporting special-abled individuals. The final match witnessed an exciting contest between Anantnag Legends and Zaiba Warriors, with Zaiba Warriors securing victory by eight wickets.


During the closing ceremony, SSP Shopian distributed trophies and cash prizes among the winners and runners-up, appreciating their determination and performance. The event was attended by DySP Hqrs Shopian, DySP DAR Shopian, the Probationary DySP and a large gathering of spectators and sports lovers.
