The Department of Media Studies, Skill and Research Centre GDC Baramulla in collaboration with department of Physical Education and Sports of GDC Baramulla organised a Casco-ball Cricket tournament at Showkat Ali Stadium, Baramulla.
As per an official, a total of six teams are participating in this tournament which includes teams like Dept. Of Media Studies GDC Baramulla , MERC University of Kashmir, Dept. of Journalism Women’s College Srinagar, Dept. of journalism IUST Kashmir and Media Studies, Central University, Srinagar.
The inaugural match was played between GDC Baramulla and MERC University of Kashmir .
While winning the toss, MERC elected to bowl first. GDC Baramulla scored 94 runs in the allotted 15 overs.
Chasing the target, team MERC fell short of 36 runs.
On Thursday, two more matches were played in which GDC Baramulla defeated Media department of Women College MA Road by five wickets. In another match, Central University of Kashmir defeated Media department of GDC Boys College Anantnag by five wickets.
The final will be played on Monday between Media department of GDC Baramulla and Media department of CUK on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion HOD Media Studies GDC Baramulla, Danish Nabi, said that they have organized the tournament for media students from almost all educational institution of Kashmir.
