Start-up Kashmir fair held by SKUAST-K | Aims to expose and encourage the students towards self-employment

A one day fair “JIDDAT” under the banner of Start-up Kashmir was organised by Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) on Saturday. This is the first ever initiative conducted by the varsity towards encouraging students for self-employment.
This event was organised by Dean Students Welfare at Syed Mirak Shah Kashani Students Facilitation Centre (SMSK SFC), Shalimar. “This was the first ever initiative conducted by the University towards encouraging students for self-employment,” it reads.
“Students from various faculties established stalls under sizzling grills, smokey barbeques, sweet tooth, food fantasy, mazzebalai, momo-hut, harisa and noon chai and madurtemyeouth where traditional and local cuisines were put on sale,” it said.
The event was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-K ProfNazeer Ahmed.
Nazeer appreciated the efforts of the students and the Directorate of Students Welfare in making this innovative programme.
“The main objective for organising this event was to expose and encourage the students to look towards self-employability,”he added.
