Srinagar inscribed as UNESCO Creative City of art and craft

Srinagar has been inscribed as UNESCO Creative City of art and craft, officails said on Monday. As per officials, Srinagar is the only city from India to make it to the UNESCO Creative city of Art and Craft list this year. As per the official twitter handle of Srinagar Municipal Coorporation (SMC), “Srinagar City has been inscribed as the UNESCO Creative City of Art and Craft. Srinagar is the only city from India to make it to the list this year. Grateful to HLG @manojsinha_,MHRD GoI, Mayor @Junaid_Mattu,Com.@AtharAamirKhan, INTACH Kashmir for making it possible!, (sic), it said.  UNESCO’s City of Crafts and Folk Arts project is part of the wider Creative Cities Network, founded in 2004, which designates cities worldwide that have made unique contributions to the field of crafts and folk arts.
