Selection Trials Wrap Up for India International and South Asian Soft Tennis Championships

In a bid to identify top talent for the upcoming second India International Soft Tennis Championship and first South Asian Soft Tennis Championship, the Amateur Soft Tennis Federation of India recently conducted open selection trials from February 11 to 13 at Maninagar, Ahmedabad Gujarat.

These championships are scheduled to take place in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India from March 16 to 25. Following rigorous trials at Gindun Sports Stadium, Rajbagh Srinagar on February 4, the selection committee, Chairman Raja G. N. Wani, President of J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association, finalized the roster. The talented players selected to represent India are Basit Nabi Wani, Ubaid Hassan, Tahreem, and Mir Farah Noorani.

Mohd Iqbal, Incharge Manager of Gindun Sports Stadium, oversaw the trials, commending the participants for their dedication and skill showcased during the selection process. The J&K Sports Council, under the guidance of the Sports Officer Kashmir Srinagar, extended essential support and permissions, enabling a seamless selection experience across various districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association ensured wide publicity by publishing selection trial notices in prominent newspapers in both Jammu and Kashmir regions.
