As part of its community outreach and youth engagement initiatives, J&K Police inaugurated Boys & Girls Basketball Tournaments at Sports Stadium Pulwama under Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025–26.
The tournaments were formally inaugurated by SSP Pulwama, Tanushree, who emphasized the importance of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle among youth.
She encouraged the participating teams to exhibit true sportsmanship and make the best use of the platform provided under CAP.
A total of six teams in the Boys category and five teams in the Girls category, representing different areas of Pulwama district, are participating in the tournaments.
The opening match in the Girls category was played between Solace International Basketball Club and Noor 11 Pulwama Basketball Club. In the Boys category, HR Bellers Basketball Club Pulwama locked horns with Hydrogen Army Basketball Club Pulwama.
The initiative aims to channelize the energy of youth towards constructive activities, strengthen police-public relations and promote a spirit of unity and positive competition.
