Meet Owais Ahmad Lone, 17 yrs from Magam area of Handwara town in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district has qualified JEE advance exam by securing 277th rank and became the topper in J&K. Today he has cleared the JEE examination and made his parents proud by becoming the only candidate from district Kupwara to qualify for JEE advance. It is most probably the first time in recent years that anyone from the Valley has secured such a high rank in this national level competitive exam. Owais focused on his goal and qualified JEE advance despite facing hardships in life. Meanwhile, four more students from valley have also qualified the JEE advance.
Saliq Gowhar Khan son of Gowhar Ahmad Khan has secured 6391 rank; Sahil Firdous Wani son of Firdous Ahmad Wani has got 11182 rank; Hasim Aijaz Lala has 13690 rank; and Tajasveer Singh has achieved 27985 rank.
