The “Nidhi Aapke Nikat” outreach programme, organised by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), was held by the Regional Office Kashmir in Bandipora on Monday.
The programme aims to strengthen the relationship between the EPFO and its stakeholders. It serves as a grievance redressal platform and facilitates the exchange of information between employers and employees, the organisation said in a press release.
The awareness programme, conducted under the guidance of Vinay Kumar, RPFC-II/Officer Incharge Kashmir Division, was led by Enforcement Officer Latief Ahmad Zargar, Riyaz Ahmad Shah, SSSA, Mudasir Shabir SSA and Mohammad Muzaffar Beigh SSA. It saw active participation from employers and employees of various establishments in the area.
During the session, participants were informed about the applicability of the EPF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, the provisions of the Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995, and the Linked Insurance Scheme 1976, as well as e-nominations and KYC procedures. The benefits of the Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI) scheme were also explained, highlighting that an assured benefit of Rs 2.5 lakhs up to a maximum of Rs 7 lakhs will be given to the nominee of a deceased employee who had rendered more than one year of continuous service as an EPFO member.
“Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0” focuses on providing various on-the-spot services to members, including e-nomination filing, KYC seeding (Aadhaar seeding), and updating bank account details, PAN, and mobile numbers. The programme also offers claim-related services, such as online claim submission and resolving any other claim-related issues. The platform also serves pensioners by providing services like Digital Life Certificate (DLC) submission, mobile number updates, and bank account updates.
A special pension help desk was set up at the camp to address pension-related issues and grievances. During the interactive session, various queries and doubts raised by the participants were answered by the visiting EPFO officers, and their grievances were resolved on the spot.
The participants expressed their gratitude to the EPFO authorities for conducting such awareness programs and hoped that similar initiatives would continue in the future to benefit more employees through the social security schemes offered by EPFO India.
