More than 100 J&K students enrolled in various streams

To offer academics under a range of technical courses, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (PTU) on Saturday stated that the university has World-class Research Scientists and renowned faculty will help the students of J&K realizing dreams in higher education.

“The Admission for Academic Session 2022-23 is open for Engineering, Architecture and Planning, Commerce and Management, Pharmacy, Food Science and Technology, Agriculture, Aeronautical, Aerospace, Computational Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Skill Development, and Online Certified Courses in Emerging Technologies i.e. Data Science, Blockchain, Programming Languages, Cyber Crime, Machine Learning, Patents & IPR, Business Intelligence, and many others”, he said.

Director, Public Relations of the University told that this is their second presser in the valley and said they are getting many queries from Jammu and Kashmir as they are offering the courses under various scholarship schemes including the fee waiver to top three meritorious students.

“Besides dedicated quota for J&K students under Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), we have Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme and 100 fee waiver for top meritorious students from PAN India”, he said.

He added that J&K is always a tourist destination and has immense potential for food technology and processing, Pharmaceuticals, and other industries in the future.

“The food processing industry is surging with every passing day, and given the fact that Kashmir is a tourism destination, those calibrated on Food Technology and Pharmacy will be in demand in future and we are giving special emphasis towards these courses also”, he added.

Chairman for Admissions said they have more than 100 students from Jammu and Kashmir enrolled in various academic programmes at the university.

The university official said that the admission window in the university is open till 30 September as of now.

Addressing a presser here at Srinagar, VC, MRS-PTU said that the university will also provide attractive scholarship schemes for J & K students, under Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship for meritorious students which will include up to 100 percent fee waiver for brilliant students.

He said that under the patronage of the Punjab government they also provide a unique “Enrol Here, Study Abroad” Pathway programme to save innocent people from the exploitation of Travel agents, saying that the scheme will prove a boon for students craving to study abroad.
