Making Kashmir proud, Gowhar Wani Shopian man wins ‘International Young Economist Award 2021.
 
Gowhar son of the soil has been awarded “International Young Economist Award 2021” by Centre for Professional Advancement, West Midlands.Wani is currently working on an index on the basis of which performance of sustainable tourism in Kashmir valley could be measured any time.
 
Wani 27 has also won Best Research Scholar Award 2020-21 by Novel Research Academy.
 
Gower also won IRSD Preeminent Young Researcher Award by Green Thinkerz Society in association with Western Sydney University Australia and Wakelet Manchester United Kingdom.
 
He also won Pratibha Samman Golden Peacock Award by MLVA Trust Mumbai.
 
Hailing from a remote village of Safanagri Zainapora in South Kashmir’s Shopian district, Gowhar grew up in a humble background. His journey to success was not easy and had to work hard.
 
He started his schooling from Government Middle School Safanagri at the age of 6. He did his High schooling from Government Boys High School Wachi.
 
He obtained his Bachelors and Masters in Economics from University of Kashmir in 2014 and 2016 respectively.
 
In September 2017, he was selected for a PhD research programme in the department of Economics Central University of Kerala.
 
Within three years, he presented 11 papers in national and international conferences and attended 11 workshops and training courses on research methodology, quantitative techniques and learning softwares, economics and others.
 
In addition, Gowhar has participated in 24 seminars, symposiums and webinars and published several papers in national and international journals. Besides, he has also edited some books.
 
In year 2020 he was honored with several awards for his valuable contribution in research. The awards Gowhar received so far include Young Researcher Award by Institute of Scholars Bangalore, Young Scientist Award by Aufau Science Forum, International Young Scientist Award by International Institute of Organised Research, Indo Asian- Elinor Ostrom Distinguished Innovative Researcher Award in Economics by IMRF- Institute of Higher Education and research,
 
He is also one of the researchers who have been awarded among top 100 International Distinguished Researcher Award from Green Thinkerz Society.
 
Gowhar has also won 3rd prize in essay competition from Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) Pune.
