Kupwara Hosts Grand Finale of 2nd District Fencing Championship

The 2nd Kupwara District Fencing Championship 2025, organized by the Kupwara District Fencing Association in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Fencing Association, concluded at Vajr Fencing Node, Kupwara. Around 96 fencers participated across multiple age and weapon categories, showcasing skill, agility and sportsmanship.


Supriya Singh Chouhan, Secretary General of J&K Fencing Association, graced the event as chief guest, while Mohsin Sadiq, Chairman of Sadiq Memorial Educational Institute, Salkoot, attended as guest of honour. Special guests included Tabassum, Principal of Sadiq Memorial Educational Institute and Choudhary Naseer Ahmad, Warden of Gujjar Bakarwal Hostel Kupwara. Also present were Gh. Hassan Wani, President and Aijaz Ahmad, Secretary of Kupwara Fencing Association, along with the technical team.


Medals were awarded across categories: U14 and U17 boys and girls in Foil, Epee, and Sabre. In total, 6 Gold, 6 Silver and 12 Bronze medals were distributed. Organizers appreciated the efforts of participants, coaches, and officials in promoting fencing as a growing sport in Kupwara.
