District Kupwara has been conferred the Best District Award for its outstanding performance in youth services and sports, officials said on Tuesday.
The award was received by Activity Incharge DYSSO Kupwara, Mohd Amin Lone, at a function where Director General Youth Services and Sports, Anuradha Gupta, presented the honour.
Officials attributed the achievement to strong leadership and coordinated efforts at all levels. DYSSO Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, was credited for guiding the department with a clear focus on participation, discipline, and grassroots development.
Field staff, zonal incharges, and other team members also played a key role by ensuring effective implementation of sports and youth programs across the district.
The recognition marks a significant milestone for Kupwara and highlights the district’s commitment to promoting sports culture and youth engagement. Officials said the achievement is expected to motivate teams to further improve performance in the coming years.
