Kashmir Women’s Premier League Concludes Successfully

The Gen Bipin Rawat Memorial Kashmir Women’s Premier League (KWPL) 2025 culminated, here today, celebrating women’s cricket, empowerment and sporting excellence. The league featured 16 teams – eight professional and eight amateur – with support from the Indian Army, Baramulla Cricket Forum and District Administration.


In the Professional League, Anantnag Rebels emerged champions after defeating Game Swingers Baramulla in a thrilling final. Rubiya of Anantnag Rebels was named Player of the Tournament for her all-round brilliance. In Amateur League, AGS Uri lifted the trophy, overcoming Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Baramulla, with Sania Rashid earning Player of the Tournament honours.


The finals and presentation ceremony were graced by Maj Gen Paranvir Singh Punia, GOC Dagger Division; Minga Sherpa, DC Baramulla and Gurinderpal Singh, SSP Baramulla, who lauded the players’ talent, sportsmanship and the league’s role in promoting women’s participation in sports in Kashmir.
