JKEDI explores collaboration opportunities with EDII Ahmedabad

In furtherance towards fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in Jammu and Kashmir, Director JKEDI, Sh. Rajinder Sharma (JKAS) Saturday met Dr. Sunil Sharma, Director General, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) Ahmedabad to explore the collaborative programs and innovative intervention for training programs and incubator establishment in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting held at Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) campus, Ahmedabad in which few officials of CIIBM, a program vertical of JKEDI also participated, aimed at exploring potential collaborations between JKEDI and EDII Ahmedabad to strengthen the startup ecosystem in the J&K. Both the institutions discussed strategic partnerships that could lead to enhanced support for budding entrepreneurs in the region, with a specific emphasis on innovation based startups.

During the interaction, Director JKEDI expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating, “The engagement with EDII Ahmedabad, opens new doors for young entrepreneurs in J&K. With the right guidance and support from prestigious institutions like EDII Ahmedabad we are confident that the entrepreneurial landscape in our region will witness significant growth.”

Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII Ahmedabad pressed on the importance of collaborative efforts in driving innovation across the country. He said, “At EDII, we believe that nurturing regional ecosystems is key to the overall development of the nation’s entrepreneurial framework. Our collaboration with JKEDI will be a step forward in creating a robust ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting also laid the groundwork for future training programs, knowledge exchange, and the establishment of incubators to support startups and entrepreneurs in J&K. Both institutions agreed to further explore avenues for partnership to contribute to the region’s socio-economic development through entrepreneurship.

The meeting was attended by Sh. Zahid Ali Dar, Project Manager and Sh. Sorab Mengi, Associate Project Manager from the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Business Modelling (CIIBM), a program vertical of JKEDI.
