J&K Taekwondo team wins 2 bronze medals at National Championship..

A 17-member Jammu and Kashmir taekwondo team including two officials recently participated in the 2nd Sub-Junior, Cadet and Junior National Taekwondo Championship held at SMS Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan from February 6 to 8.

Around 1600 athletes from across India took part in the championship organized by the India Taekwondo, the recognized body of World Taekwondo and Asian Taekwondo Union.

The Jammu and Kashmir team won two bronze medals in the competition through the efforts of Muqadas in the Jr Girls category and Adnan Parvaiz in the Cadet Male category.

Athlete Burhan Bhat from Jammu and Kashmir was the only state participant in the Olympic trials but unfortunately lost in the 2nd round of the qualifier against Kerala.
