J&K Police emerges overall Champion in Wrestling..

J&K Police emerged overall Champion in the two-day long 31st Men Freestyle and Greco Roman Style as well as 17th Women J&K UT level Wrestling Championship which concluded at Jammu University, here today.
The Championship was organized by Wrestling Association of J&K in collaboration with Jammu University under the auspices of Wrestling Federation of India, J&K Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dushyant Sharma (International Wrestler and former President of Wrestling Federation of India) was the chief guest, while Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director Sports and Physical Education, Jammu University was the guest of honour. Jai Bharat, General Secretary, Om Prakash, Ravinder Singh, Krishan Singh (Technical Official), Roshan Sharma (Technical Official were present on the occasion.

The chief guest lauded the efforts of the organizers for conducting the championship and channelizing the energy of the youth towards wrestling sports. The chief guest encouraged the participants. He also lauded the role of Association for giving opportunity to budding wrestlers by holding the championship and distributed the medals among winners, while mementoes were given to officials.
The overall championship trophy was won by J&K Police, Reasi won Runner-up trophy and second runner-up trophy was won by Jammu district.

The results were in the senior men free style (61kg), Kulvinder Singh-Gold, Azmat Ali-Silver and Ajay Sharma- Bronze, in 65kg, Keshav Singh-Gold, Vicku Sharma -Silver and Pyar Singh -Bronze, in 70kg, Chain Singh-Gold, Rahul Mehra-Silver and Peeran Ditta Jagtar Singh-Bronze, in 74kg, Gulshan Chib-Gold, Gourav-Silver and Kulvir Singh -Bronze, in 79kg, Surjeet Singh-Gold, Haqiqat Singh -Silver and Sajan Singh-Bronze, in 86kg, Bahadur Singh-Gold, Kulbhushan Nariana-Silver and Ankush -Bronze, in 92kg, Balwan Singh -Gold, Maksood Ahmed-Silver and Rashpaul Singh -Bronze in 97kg, Mohd Hafiz-Gold, Gulshan Kumar-Silver and Rohit Bhagat- Bronze and 125kg, Mustafa Kamal -Gold, Isaaq Ahmed -Silver and Aditya Singh-Bronze.
