J&K Junior Taekwondo team flagged off for Nat’l C’ship

The Junior Taekwondo Team from the  Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory has been officially flagged off to participate in the 41st National Junior Kyorugi Taekwondo Championship and the 14th National Junior Poomsae Taekwondo Championship 2024. These prestigious events are set to take place from August 18 to 20 at the Divisional Sports Complex, Sambhaji Nagar, Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

The flag-off ceremony was a significant event, attended by Dr. S.M. Bali as the chief guest. The screening of the team was conducted in the presence of B.S. Bali, Divisional Sports Officer, JKSC, and Suraj Bhan, Manager of the Indoor Complex, JKSC, who was appointed as an Observer by the J&K Sports Council. Also present were Ramesh Chander Sharma, General Secretary of the J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA), and Anuj Sharma, Joint Secretary of JKTA, both of whom demonstrated strong support for the young athletes.

Rajesh Pangotra, President of the J&K Taekwondo Association, extended his congratulations to the players and wished them success at the national event. The team also received a motivational boost from Chandeep Singh, a distinguished sports personality, who attended both the screening and flag-off ceremonies.
The team is under the expert guidance of Chief Coach Atul Pangotra, an International Coach, Player, and Referee certified by World Taekwondo (WT), with assistance from Coaches Syed Taha and Burhan ud Din Khan.

The J&K-UT Junior Taekwondo team members include: Shivansh Rajput, Amakesh Kumar, Rakshit Sahotra, Abbas Khursheed, Muzakir Hussain, Azad Ahmad Beigh, Faizan Hassan, Aryan Singh Chib, Suryaansh Victor Sharma (Boys). Vasundra Sharma, Khadija Ul Qubra, Radha Sharma, Shruti Thakur, Misbah Fatima, Arbeena Altaf, Soha Sehar Tak, Urooj Fatima, Lubna Naseer, Mohit Anthal, and Haris Gulzar (Girls). These young athletes are prepared to represent Jammu & Kashmir UT with pride and determination on the national stage, aiming to bring honour and recognition to the region.
