IUST, J&K Police Awantipora organise seminar on New Criminal Laws

The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), in collaboration with J&K Police Awantipora organised a One-Day Awareness Seminar on the Three New Criminal Laws on Tuesday. The event coordinated by the Council of Students under the ambit of the Dean of Students, aimed to familiarize students with the recent legal reforms and their implications.

During the seminar, Prof. Abdul Wahid Makhdoomi, Registrar IUST, and SSP Awantipora, interacted with the students. Addl. SP Awantipora, Sr. PO DPO Awantipora, SDPO Awantipora, and Prosecuting Officers, were also present who highlighted the collaborative effort to promote legal literacy. During the seminar, speakers delivered comprehensive presentations on the key changes introduced in the new Criminal Laws, and shed light on the legal reforms, helping participants develop a clearer understanding of the evolving legal landscape.

An interactive question-answer session followed the presentations, where students actively engaged with the experts. Their queries were addressed in detail, making the session both informative and impactful.
