The Department of Media Studies, Skill and Research Centre GDC Baramulla in collaboration with department of Physical Education and Sports of GDC Baramulla Wednesday kick started casco Cricket tournament at Showkat Ali Stadium, Baramulla.
As per the official a total of Six teams are participating in this tournament which includes teams like Dept. Of Media Studies GDC Baramulla , MERC University of Kashmir, Dept. of Journalism Women’s collage Srinagar, Dept. of journalism IUST Kashmir and Media Studies, Central University, Srinagar.
The inaugral match was played between GDC Baramulla and MERC University of Kashmir at Showkat Ali Stadium, Baramulla while winning the toss MERC elected bowling first. GDC Baramulla scored 94 runs in 15 overs.
Chasing the target of 95 runs, team MERC fell short of 36 runs. Thus, paving the way for team GDC Baramulla to win first match of the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion HOD Media Studies GDC Baramulla Danish Nabi said that they have organized the media tournament throughout Kashmir to introduce separate sports activity.
Enthusiastic players who participated in the tournament from these colleges appreciated the move and said organiser should conduct these tournaments for boys as well as girls in near future.
