Erin Mir Emerges Champion at AITA U-18 Event in Delhi

 12-year-old  tennis prodigy Erin Mir from Srinagar has won the All India  Tennis Association (AITA) Under-18 Championship Series in Delhi, competing against significantly older players.

According to reports, Erin participated in the Under-18 category and emerged as the champion, a rare and noteworthy feat in Indian junior tennis. Earlier, she had already scripted history by becoming the first player from Jammu and Kashmir to break into the Top 10 of AITA rankings in the Under-12 category, achieving a career-best rank of 7 in January 2025.

She has also secured multiple national titles across U-12, U-14, and U-16 categories while maintaining strong rankings in each.

Training at the Ball Park Tennis Academy in Delhi since 2022 under Coach Vinod Kumar, Erin’s consistent performances and upward trajectory have drawn attention from the national tennis circuit. She has also broken into the Top 100 in the U-14 category and is currently regarded as one of the leading junior players from Jammu and Kashmir.
