The District Youth Services and Sports Office, Srinagar, inaugurated the Inter-District UT Level Weightlifting Competitions for boys and girls aged 17 and 19 at Bakshi Stadium as part of the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” campaign promoting a drug-free lifestyle through sports.
The competitions, as per a statement, are being organised under the campaign “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan”. Several districts of the Union Territory are participating in the event, showcasing young talent and promoting a drug-free lifestyle through sports.The event was inaugurated by DYSSO Srinagar, Ghulam Hassan Lone, who was accompanied by senior officers of DYSSO Srinagar and other officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Lone applauded the participants for their dedication and hard work, urging them to excel both in sports and academics. Before the commencement of the day’s proceedings, a pledge was administered reaffirming the commitment towards a drug-free lifestyle and society.
