DYS&S organises YSS Cup in Bandipora

The Department of Youth Services and Sports Bandipora is organising tournaments in different games at Panchayat Level to keep youth active during the chilling winters.

The matches of the tournament at Panchayat Level in Volleyball, Kabaddi and Kho-Kho are being held at Higher Secondary School Nadihal.

Earlier, ZZPEO Bandipora kickstarted the block level Panchayat tournament. Youth Services and Sports Officer Gh Qadir said that in the ongoing YSS Cup Rolling trophy ,Block Bandipora, conducted matches in volleyball and kabaddi.

He said in volleyball Panchayat Chetaybanday-B, Garoora-B and Gundpora-B qualified for the next round of the tournament while in Kabaddi Chetaybanday-A and Chetaybanday-B were winners and qualified for the next round of the competition.

YSS Officer said the aim of holding the tournaments during winter was to keep youngsters physically active during winters as people normally stay away from doing much physical work during winters that takes a toll on their health. He said such activities will help youth to stay fit and stay away from anti-social activities including drugs.
