DPS Srinagar’s Youngest Participant Shines in 13 km ‘Pedal Through Paradise’ Cyclothon

DPS Srinagar is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of our youngest cyclist from UKG-F, who successfully completed the challenging 13-kilometer race in the Under-14 category of the ‘Pedal Through Paradise’ Cyclothon 2025.As per a statement issued here, despite being one of the youngest participants in the event, our spirited rider showcased extraordinary determination, boundless enthusiasm, and remarkable endurance—proving that age is no barrier to courage and perseverance. Competing alongside much older cyclists, she pedalled with unwavering focus from start to finish, winning hearts along the way.

The Cyclothon, organised by the J&K Armed Police in collaboration with the Fit India Movement, saw over 3000 participants cycling from the Police Golf Course to Harwan and back. Set against the scenic backdrop of Dal Lake, the event brought together participants aged 5 to 60, including specially-abled riders, in a celebration of fitness, healthy living, and youth engagement. Speaking at the event, ADGP Anand Jain highlighted the importance of such initiatives in inspiring young people to lead active, drug-free lives and contribute to nation-building.

Principal Shafaq Afshan expressed immense pride in the young achiever, saying, “Her success is an inspiration to all our students. She has shown that with courage, discipline, and determination, even the toughest challenges can be overcome—no matter your age.” Chairman Vijay Dhar congratulated the young cyclist, stating, “At DPS Srinagar, we believe in nurturing not just academic excellence but also resilience, sportsmanship, and life skills. This achievement perfectly reflects the spirit of our school.” This milestone for our young UKG student reflects not just her personal grit but also the values of confidence, resilience and perseverance that we at DPS Srinagar strive to instil in every child.
