DPS Srinagar students accepted into Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange program..

Two students of Delhi Public School, Srinagar: Neemat u Nisa and Mantasha Naseer, have been accepted into the esteemed Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program for the academic year 2024-2025.

The students are among the select 30 students from India who received merit-based scholarships in the competitive first round of selection. The students will spend an academic year in the United States as part of the YES Abroad initiative. The YES Abroad program fosters cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the United States and countries with significant Muslim populations.

Speaking about the significance of such programs, Syed Sumera, Coordinator of International Affairs at Delhi Public School, Srinagar, expressed, “These programs play a pivotal role in nurturing global competencies among students, preparing them to thrive in diverse environments and contribute positively to the international community. At DPS Srinagar, we are committed to equipping our students with the skills and mindset necessary to excel on a global stage.”

The Principal Shafaq Afshan congratulated the students, stating, “Our school takes immense pride in providing opportunities for our students to participate in enriching exchange programs. This achievement reflects our commitment to holistic education and fostering a culture of excellence.”

Chairman Vijay Dhar also extended his congratulations, emphasizing, “At DPS Srinagar we train students to serve as “Youth Ambassadors,” who will promote cross-cultural connections and develop crucial leadership skills that are vital in today’s globalized world. Participants like Neemat u Nisa and Mantasha Naseer are precisely the manifestations of this vision. Congratulations to them.”
