The Chinar Cycling Club (CCC) Budgam is organising an open MTB cycling race on 20th of June at Sedico Syed Ahad Ompora Budgam under the aegis of the Cycling Association of J&K in which budding cyclists of Kashmir Valley will be participating.
In a statement, the Club said that the interested cyclists may submit their details to Akbar Khan, the President of the Club on his mobile number 9419009437. Khan, according to the statement, is the head of the Budgam unit of the Cycling Association.
The statement said that S Ravinder Singh (KAS Retd ) President , S S Gill General Secretary, Zameer Thakur, Vice President, Mushtaq Ahmad Joint Secretary and Ravi Salgotra Treasurer of the Cycling Association, while appreciating the efforts of Khan, have stated that the event will help searching the best talents in the MTB Cycling for participation at State / National level competitions.
“Our cyclists have already brought laurels to J&K in various national level championships & we are proud of them,” the statement said.
Akbar Khan stated that the aim behind organizing such events is to involve the youth in sports activities to keep them away from social evils like drug abuse and make them fit & healthy.
