Arbeena Makes History with J&K’s First U19 Taekwondo Gold in Girls Category

Arbeena Altaf created history by winning the first-ever gold medal for Jammu and Kashmir in the Under-19 Girls Taekwondo Championship. Battling through a fiercely contested final against Uttar Pradesh, Arbeena showcased exceptional skill and determination, overcoming injury to secure victory.


Her path to gold included impressive wins over competitors from Kerala, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Maharashtra, and Kerala again in the semifinals, demonstrating consistency and dominance throughout the tournament.


Director General of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Anuradha Gupta, lauded her achievement, calling it a proud moment for the Union Territory. She emphasized that Arbeena’s historic victory sets a benchmark for young athletes and inspires a new generation to excel in sports, bringing unprecedented glory to Jammu and Kashmir.
