60 cricket teams in Kupwara’s Ramhall receive sports kits

In a bid to promote grassroots cricket in north Kashmir, 60 cricket teams from the Ramhall area of Kupwara district were handed over complete sports kits during a distribution drive led by DDC Member Advocate Ulfat Mushtaq.

The distribution event witnessed the presence of several key officials, including representatives from the Department of Youth Services and Sports Kupwara, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kupwara Muzaffar Ahmad, and Peoples Conference Constituency Head Handwara Sheikh Ashiq Hussain

On the occasion, Ashiq Hussain said that on the directions of Peoples Conference Chairman and Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Handwara Sajad Gani Lone, cricket kits were distributed among the deserving teams with an aim to strengthen and embellish cricketing spirit and talent among the youth of over sixty villages in the Ramhall area of the district.

He said that a similar function would be organised soon, during which sports kits of different games would be provided to youth. “Sajad Lone is very particular about providing a platform and necessary support to the budding players so that they can be a source of inspiration for others,” he added.

Meanwhile, the local players and people in the area hailed the move, hoping that such free kit distributions would continue to promote the sports.
