JK has clinched two bronze medals in Finswimming

“JK achieved two Bronze Medals in Finswimming, both secured by Owais Rashid during the 6th All India Finswimming Federation Cup 2023, which took place at the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Swimming Pool Complex in New Delhi from September 28th to October 2nd, 2023, in the Master 30 to 34 Years Category.
The Underwater Sports Association J&K selected a contingent comprising 22 athletes, 3 officials, and 2 technical experts to represent the Union Territory in the 6th All India Fin-Swimming National Championship held at the same venue.

The team consisted of Fayiz Mehmood Baba, Abdullah Ajaz, Sheikh Muhammad Muwahid, Muhammad Aleem Ibaad, Mohammad Samiullah, Shahzada Mohammad Rayaan Bhat, Faiq Ahmad Shah, Jasir Aijaz, Hashmatullah Shah, Inaam Ullah, Muhammad Ibrahim Wani, Junaid Shafi Sofi, Mohammad Faaliq Najar, Mohsin Fayaz Shah, Zaid Bin Riyaz, Shahzada Mohammad Keyaan, Azaan Bashir, Mohammad Ibrahim, Zainab Binti Riyaz, Musa Shakeel, Atiq Zaqa Karwaw, and Owais Rashid.

The team was accompanied by officials Masood Ahmad Shah, Moonis Majid Wani, and Shakeel Ahmad Shah, while Yasir Yousuf Makhdoomi and Riyaz Ahmad Wani were selected as Technical Officials representing the Underwater Sports Association India for the Championship.

Before departing for the event, the athletes underwent an intensive coaching camp under the guidance of swimming experts from the Swim N Survival Society Kashmir, held at the Water Sports Center in Nigeen.
In applauding Owais Rashid for his outstanding performance, the Secretary of the Swim N Survival Society – Kashmir expressed the society’s commitment to providing a conducive platform for aspiring swimmers in the valley.

The Association extended its gratitude to the Department of Tourism Kashmir for their invaluable support and services made available at the Water Sports Center Nigeen.”
