The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Government Degree College Kulgam organized a day-long workshop titled “AI and 14.0 Tools for Innovators and Entrepreneurs,” conducted under the IIC 8.0 Calendar activities for the academic year 2025–2026 (Quarter 1).
The event began with a welcome address by the principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Mohd Abass Shah, who spoke about the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence in the education sector. He emphasized the need to adopt AI responsibly while ensuring that human direction and agency remain central to its application.
The invited speaker, Mr. Ummar Sheriff, Principal and CEO of Ayesha Ali Academy, Kulgam, delivered an insightful session on the workshop’s theme. He discussed the evolving relationship between AI and education, the importance of maintaining human agency in a technology-driven world, and the key skills and strategies students need to thrive in the future.
Dr. Gowhar Hamid Dar, Coordinator of the Institution’s Innovation Council, outlined the objectives of the workshop and reiterated that while AI can transform human lives, true understanding continues to arise from human curiosity and intellect.
The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from more than 150 students and faculty members. The proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Wachkoo, Member of IIC.
