The chairman (Tata Group) Ramaswamy said, " “We are meeting lots of people on the ground to get an overview on how we can participate. The way we are looking at it is J&K for the state itself which means how we can create a vibrant economy here which can benefit the state.”
A team of Tata Group, one of the biggest business conglomerates of the country, which arrived here Tuesday on a three-day visit, met local industrialists and entrepreneurs to discuss possibilities of joint business collaborations, trainings and development programmes.
Addressing students at University of Kashmir in an event, senior vice-president and global head of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) VenguswamyRamaswamy said the purpose of the visit is to look at Jammu and Kashmir in a “holistic 360 degree view to participate in the development and growth of the state in a large way”.
A delegation of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) also held a meeting with the visiting Tata Sons team here on Wednesday.
The sectors of healthcare, education, horticulture, handicrafts, gem & jewellery food-processing and tourism were discussed in detail during the meeting, it said.
V Ramaswamy of Tata briefed the chamber delegation about the various schemes and capacity building programmes under consideration of the Tata Group for J&K.
After taking detailed inputs from members of the delegation Ramaswamy informed the members that they would be developing the inputs received and would be coming back with concrete proposals and schemes
This is a good news for the youth of Kashmir. It will open up many job opportunities an as a whole develop Kashmir’s economy.
