Tanish Bhat, 23, who has become a celebrity after his stints in Bollywood and TV shows, wants the disgruntled youth of J&K to shun the path of violence and take up artistic ventures.

Tanish, who was in Kashmir for his performance in the recently concluded Kashmir Festival-2018, called upon the youth to channelize their energy in a positive direction to serve the state.

“The youth of J&K are full of potential to undertake any adventure and can make their mark at national and international levels. The only thing needed is to tune their capabilities in the right direction. Music heals and can change youth’s outlook,” Tanish said while talking to media.

Tanish, who did his schooling from Jammu, is studying BTech in New Delhi. He took to modelling and acting at the age of 20 and got his first break for a cameo role in Balakrishna’s Telugu movie ‘Dictator’.

Taking his passion forward, he again got a big break in Bollywood movie ‘MS Dhoni’ in 2016.

“I intend to conduct workshops of modelling, acting and singing in Jammu and Kashmir so that large-scale participation of youth can be achieved. Our state is disturbed and the society needs to rise to counsel youth towards betterment. I also want to invest my bit and I hope it will work,” he said.

Presently working for MTV, Tanish is one of the lead participants in ‘Dating in the dark-Season 1’, hosted by Norah Fatehi, the famous Bollywood model.

Besides, he has acted in many TV serials like ‘Savdhaan India’.

“As soon as I get a break from my projects, I would like to come to J&K with some ideas for short movies and involve youth from different parts of the state in various technical and acting programmes,” he added.
