Tahoor Tabaan, 27-year-old MUA is driven by innate qualities of Makeup Artistry.

Tahoor Tabaan alternates between her Doctorate in tourism administration and Make-up Artistry.

This 27-year-old MUA is driven by innate qualities of Makeup Artistry. A resident of Sadribal, Srinagar, she’s generally known by her Social-media handle Purhex (meaning: Pure Magic). Her Make-up work includes Bridal Makeup, Party makeover, Eye shading, Airbrush professional, dry Make-up and Hair Makeover.

Tahoor belongs to a family of highly motivated professionals and is currently pursuing her Doctorate from Amity University, Delhi. She’s an Alumni of Presentation Convent. “Born and brought up in Kashmir, I was thrilled to be surrounded by a lot of cousins of my age. Being the youngest in my family I was both pampered and protected all along. As a child, I grew up in two elder sisters, a strong working mother and a father with a strong temperament”

Before the commencement of her doctorate, she decided to utilise the time for herself and what she really loved to do and came across “The School of Beauty and Make-up, Delhi”. She was offered a 3rd level course due to her skill level and quick learning. During her course, she was introduced to numerous new techniques which fascinated her even more and her desire to grow as a Make-up artist started to dwell inside.

“I used to experiment make-up on friends and family. The make-up was loved by everyone and since then the smiles have never stopped. My hardships mostly included Society acceptance as a travelling artist but I was driven by the passion to explore the art of make-up and use new products and combinations to create memories for my clients on occasions of a lifetime”

She was always keen to learn the art of eye makeup as she always admired her sisters for their passion in the same and she tried her hand on it. She was complimented for her work in ways she didn’t expect. She didn’t see a career out of it though and started doing party makeup on friends and always tried various combinations and techniques as she could imagine.

“I believe our life in Kashmir has been taken aback for decades now and working in Kashmir makes me relive the beauty of nature and the purity which lies in our culture rich state. Working in Kashmir and being identified here is a matter of pride and each one of us should strive to live that moment”
