Srinagar’s Tulip Garden enters prestigious world book of records..

Marking a significant milestone for its unparalleled grandeur, the iconic Tulip Garden in Srinagar, known for its breathtaking beauty, has been included in the World Book of Records (London) for being the largest Tulip Garden in Asia.

This accolade comes in recognition of the garden’s remarkable display of 1.6 million tulip flowers, featuring an astonishing 68 different varieties during the tulip show 2023.
The World Book of Records (London) celebrated this achievement by inviting Sheikh Fayaz, Commissioner/Secretary to Floriculture, Gardens & Parks, to a grand felicitation ceremony held at The Lalit, New Delhi.

Delegates from 35 countries joined the event to honour this remarkable feat.
Sheikh Fayaz, in his acceptance speech, expressed gratitude to the WBR London jury for selecting the Tulip Garden Srinagar for this prestigious award. He credited the dedicated gardening staff, as well as the department’s officers and officials, who tirelessly plant millions of tulip bulbs each year in different color schemes and patterns.

He emphasized that this achievement truly reflects the power of collaboration and teamwork.
Moreover, he highlighted the garden’s increasing importance on the tourism map of Jammu & Kashmir, attracting countless visitors from across India and abroad during the month-long Tulip Show. Last year witnessed a record-breaking 3.77 lakh tourists visiting the garden during the 32-day period.\

He also invited all WBR London jury members present at the ceremony to experience the magic of Tulip Garden Srinagar during the upcoming Tulip Show in 2024. This recognition not only places Srinagar’s Tulip Garden on the global stage but also signifies the beauty and splendor of the region’s natural treasures.
