Srinagar shines in 6th UT Wushu Championship

Srinagar emerged as overall champions while topping the overall medal tally by bagging 24 gold, 12 silver, 7 bronze medals in the 16th J&K (UT) Wushu Championship held recently at Bagwati Nagar Jammu.

A total of 850 players from 17 districts and players from J&K police participated in the championship and showcased their talent.
In the championship district Srinagar topped the overall medal tally by bagging 24 Gold, 12 silver, 7 bronze medals in sub junior, junior and senior categories.

While talking to Rising Kashmir CEO, National Chief Coach , Kuldeep Handoo said that   District Srinagar  is doing tremendous job for the promotion of this combat sport. He  praised and applauded them for being the Champions of the tournament.
“District Srinagar was led by Secretary District Wushu Association Srinagar Muhammad Maqsood Rather , Rameez Ahmad Dar, Irfan Wani and  Aijaz Hassan. Their performance and hardwork towards the game has always been fruitful to the sport,” Handoo said.

The Chief Guest during the closing ceremony were Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Raghav Langer, Nuzhat Gull Secretary J&K Sports Council and Ranjeet Kalra, Vice President Wushu Association  J&K was guest of honour.
On the conclusion Secretary District Wushu Association Srinagar Mohammad Maqsood Rather expressed gratitude to Wushu Association of J&K, J&K Sports Council for organizing such a grand event.

He also hailed Nuzhat Gull Secretary J&K Sports Council, Vijay Sharaf President Wushu Association J&K, Ranjeet Kalra, Vice President Wushu Association  J&K, Mir Sarwar Bollywood Actor, Kuldeep Handoo CEO and  Chief Coach Of India for all type of support and  trust towards the Athletes from every district for making the event successful.

Manager Gindun Stadium Rajbagh Mushtaq Zargar and Nisar Hussain was also appreciated for providing all the necessary support, guidance to the players.
