SKUAST-K’s RCRQA lab qualifies national-level proficiency test

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Science and Technology of Kashmir has achieved another feat as its Research Centre for Residue and Quality Analysis (RCRQA) laboratory has qualified national-level Proficiency Tests and Inter-Laboratory Comparison.

RCRQA, a National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accredited laboratory serves the purpose of certification and testing of the products to be exported to various international destinations.

The laboratory possesses all high-end instruments with an expert technical team having experience of more than 10 years in the domains of Mass Spectrometry, Chromatography and Spectroscopy. The next target for RCRQA is to increase the pesticide molecules from 10-100 under the NABL scope.

The laboratory will also take up testing of Aflatoxins, and antibiotics and also initiate the analysis of heavy metals and their speciation with hyphenation techniques.

Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai, has congratulated the team manning the RCRQA lab. He directed that the lab should integrate NABL with FSSAI so as to adhere to strict regulations from the EU and other foreign countries.

RCRQA is likely to be up-scaled for Export Inspection Council so as to get more samples from the Northern part of the country and ultimately achieve the NABET accreditation.
