Scientists from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir were honoured to lead sessions in the Agriculture Module for officer trainees of Indian Administrative Services (IAS) phase-I (batch 2023) at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand.
Recognising SKUAST-K’s status as one of the country’s premier agricultural universities, the Director of LBSNAA specifically invited scientists from SKUAST-K to conduct sessions on Livestock Husbandry and Fisheries.
Under the guidance of Vice Chancellor, Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Prof. Riaz Ahmad Shah, Head of Mountain Livestock Research Institute (MLRI) Manasbal and Prof. Feroz A Shah, Head of the Division of Aquatic Animal Health Management, delivered insightful lectures on “Livestock Husbandry: Status, Challenges & Prospects” and “Fisheries Sector in India: Present and Future Prospects” respectively, as part of the Agriculture module. Valuable insights and knowledge were shared by the experts during these technical sessions.
SKUAST-K remains committed to excellence in teaching and human resource development in the fields of Agriculture and allied sciences. This marks the first instance, under the leadership of the current Vice-Chancellor, where SKUAST-K was chosen to deliver lectures at LBSNAA, reflecting the university’s growing recognition and expertise in the agricultural domain in the country.
