The Department of Students Welfare at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Kashmir (SKUAST-K) organised a three-day Soft Skills Training Programme for students on the theme “Shaping Success: Empowering through Soft Skills & Personality Development” from May 7 to May 9.
The event was held at the Students Facilitation Centre, Shalimar Campus, in association with the Art of Living.
A statement said that this innovative initiative aimed to equip students with essential skills necessary for personal and professional success in today’s competitive world. The three-day program covered a wide range of soft skills, including stress management, time management, communication skills, and leadership development.
The inaugural session was attended by Dean Students Welfare Prof. Rafiq A. Shahardar, Dean Faculty of Horticulture Prof. S.A. Wani, Prof. Farooq Lone, Prof. Shaheen Gul, Students Welfare Officer Dr. Seemi Lohani, and students from the Faculty of Horticulture and College of Agriculture Engineering.
In his address, Prof. Rafiq Shahardar emphasized that the interactive training program would provide participants with opportunities to enhance their abilities and unleash their full potential. Prof. S. A. Wani, Dean Faculty of Horticulture, appreciated the organizers and stated that the goal was to provide students with practical tools and techniques to enrich their academic journey and prepare them for future challenges.
The resource person for the training program was Ms. Vandana Daftari, Regional Director of the Art of Living. She covered topics such as breathing techniques, coping with emotions and stress, health and nutrition, and interpersonal relations.
Dr. Seemi Lohani, the Training Coordinator, delivered the vote of thanks at the end of the inaugural session. Student participants showed extreme enthusiasm and applauded the organizers for this empowering Training Programme.
