Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) has reinforced its commitment to internationalisation by participating in the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) 2025, held from March 24 to March 28 at the India International Convention and Expo Centre, Yashobhoomi, New Delhi.
This prestigious event, hosted in India for the first time, served as a global platform for fostering in-ternational academic collaboration in the Asia-Pacific region. The event featured participation from 360 leading academic institutions worldwide, including 60 top-ranked universities from India. Nota-bly, SKUAST-K was the only agricultural university representing India, highlighting its dedication to advancing agricultural education on the global stage.
On the opening day, a delegation from SKUAST-K, led by Director of Education, Prof. M. Altaf Bhat, and Associate Director of Education, Prof. Mohammad Anwar Bhat, actively engaged in the Austria-India Cooperation Forum (AICF) matchmaking sessions. Organised by the Austrian Embassy and Study in India (Ministry of Education, Government of India), the forum provided an opportunity to explore academic and research collaborations with Austrian institutions, further enhancing SKUAST-K’s global engagement. A key achievement of SKUAST-K’s participation was the signing of a Memo-randum of Understanding (MoU) with Asia Pacific University, Malaysia, aimed at fostering collabo-ration in research, student exchanges, and joint academic initiatives.
Additionally, the university fi-nalised agreements with Massey University and SIT University, New Zealand, paving the way for en-hanced research partnerships, faculty exchanges, and joint programmes. SKUAST-K’s presence at APAIE 2025 marks a significant milestone in its mission to expand global academic collaborations, strengthening its position as a leading institution in agricultural education and research on the inter-national stage. The successful participation in the APAIE Capacity-Building Masterclass, the Austria India Co-operation Forum, and interactive sessions with the Slovakian delegation highlights a signifi-cant advancement of SKUAST-K in enhancing its global presence.
The recently established partnerships with Asia Pacific University, Massey University New Zealand, and SIT University are expected to yield substantial academic and research benefits, contributing to the advancement of agricultural education on a global scale.
