Sahil Shafi scores double ton in JKPL Srinagar match

The 207 run brilliant knock by Sahil Shafi helped Amar Singh Club to post a huge total of 336 runs on board in allotted 40 overs for the loss of only one wicket.

A cricketer from Barber Shah area of Srinagar, Sahil Shafi scored unbeaten double ton of 206 runs from 119 balls in the match of J&K Premier League (JKPL) Srinagar leg conducted by J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) for Amar Singh Club Reds against FCC Chanapora at Sheri-Kashmir Cricket Stadium Sonwar here on Monday.

The 207 run brilliant knock by Sahil Shafi helped Amar Singh Club to post a huge total of 336 runs on board in allotted 40 overs for the loss of only one wicket. His inning included seven sixes and 12 boundaries. Muzamil Feroz supported him well with 96 run knock while as Afnan Qadir chipped in with 38. In reply FCC Chanapora got all out for 158 runs. For Amar Singh Club Reds, Uzair and Hashim took three wickets each while as Omar Alam took two wickets.

Former J&K Ranji trophy cricketer and Amar Singh club coach, NP Singh hailed the inning played by Sahil and said, “It is first time I have seen someone scoring double ton in Kashmir during a competitive tournament conducted by JKCA. He is talented cricketer and I hope he will be given chance during a selection process for J&K national teams”.

Earlier in the year, Paras Sharma had scored an unbeaten 241 run knock in a 45-over game in a JKCA trial match at Sheri-Kashmir Cricket Stadium Sonwar.
