RJ receives UNICEF’s ‘Radio for Children Award’

Umar Nisar, also known as Radio Boy of India, has been awarded the National UNICEF and Radio 4 Child Award for the campaign ‘India Fights COVID’, which created impact and awareness across the country.
All radio stations across the country participated in the campaign. The award ceremony was conducted virtually to follow COVID-19 guidelines, and the award was given by Dr. Amit Mehrotra, OIC UNICEF, UP. Zafrin Chowdhury, chief of communications and advocacy and partnerships, UNICEF India, and Roshan Abbas.
Lately, Umar attended the UNICEF Conference to understand the role of radio in strengthening its initiatives, including # JalJeevanMission – “Har Ghar Jal” in New Delhi.
“This award will be an essential part of my life. It will motivate me for the rest of my future. And I want to dedicate this award to my Radio Raabta team.
The cooperation, the understanding, and the constant support gave us fruitful results, “Umar quoted with a smile.
