Real Kashmir FC jointly with JKFA (J&K Football Association) and AIFF (All India Football Federation) and in collaboration with JKSC has organised Jammu and Kashmir’s first-ever, national-level Football competition, the ‘Real Kashmir Cup’, as a show of unity, solidarity and peace.
In a statement released the Club has said that “18 Premier division teams from Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh and other states of the country will compete for the Real Kashmir Cup beginning 27 of December at the TRC Stadium, Srinagar.”
This is the single largest Football event held in Jammu & Kashmir after Real Kashmir FC hosted 2 seasons of the I-league in 2018 and 2019. All COVID-19 protocols in place for sporting events in the valley will be followed for this tournament.
Real Kashmir FC Chairman, Sandeep Chattoo said that, “We wanted to keep Football momentum in the Valley going and there being no Home Games of Hero I-league this season because of Covid, we decided to host the RKFC Cup to give Football fans what they love.”
The Real Kashmir Cup follows RKFC becoming the first club from Jammu and Kashmir to win a National Level Football Trophy, after becoming champions of the 123rd edition of IFA Shield on 19th of December this year.
DD Kashir will be the official broadcaster of the event. All the matches of the ‘Real Kashmir Cup’ will be broadcasted on DD Kashir.
