EXEMPLYIFYING COMMUNAL HARMONY IN KASHMIR.

Ranvir Singh, a migrant worker from Punjab was declared dead on arrival at the local hospital and while his family was being contacted to take the body to Punjab, they lost contact with the family. To which,
villagers in Ganderbal came together in a show of communal harmony to perform his last rites.
Local youths also volunteered and collected money when they learned about Singh’s death and together arranged everything and rites were conducted as per their religious customs. From cutting woods to making other arrangements for his cremation, everyone from the village came forward to help and were present until the cremation. They have also sent portions from the collected money to Singh’s family in Punjab to support them.
It is rightly said, it does not matter when you join in to celebrate in someone’s happiness but what matters is when you are there to support someone in their difficult, bad times, keeping aside all kinds of religious differences, and that is when we become a human.
