Bilal Ahmad Wani, a teacher at the Government Upper Primary School ( UPS) Jeevan Sahab falling in Ladhoo area of Pampore tehsil in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district has been recognised by the authorities for his innovative teaching methods.
The teacher has been nominated for the Teacher of the Year award for Pulwama.
Chief Education Officer Pulwama Abdul Qayoom Nadvi admired Bilal Ahmad for his contributions in improving the teaching -learning environment of the Upper Primary School.
“Bilal Ahmad Wani is an exceptionally talented teacher and has been nominated for the Teacher of the Year for Pulwama district,” he said.
The authorities said that the award acknowledges Wani’s exceptional dedication to his profession and his innovative teaching methods.
They added that his innovative methodology has significantly benefited students.
“His commitment to education and his role as a mentor have made a lasting impact, meriting this well-deserved recognition,” the authorities said.
Chief Education Officer Pulwama observed that he has been visiting the school frequently and have noticed Wani and other staff left no stone unturned in making the aura of the school attractive for the students.
He said that the school has been beautifully managed forging strong bonds with the surrounding community, especially parents.
The CEO Pulwama said that this primary school situated in a remote area is in their focus and the services rendered by the teaching staff especially Wani is in their knowledge.
Bilal Ahmad Wani, head teacher at UPS Jeevan Sahab, said that the school caters to students from Gujjar Bakerwal Community.
He added that they renovated the school building by installing smart boards, desktops and other teaching learning materials.
“We made our timetable very flexible and have been working beyond official working hours,” he said, adding that apart from innovative teaching methodology they stressed on co-curricular activities and cultural programmes.
He said that they even spent from their pockets to provide stationary, shoes and socks to students.
“Recently, we arranged fans out of our own pockets for the comfort of our students,” he said, adding that nomination for the teacher of the year award is recognition of these efforts.
