Pulwama boy shines in Climbing competition in Delhi

A young boy, Kafeel Ul Haq, from Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir has secured second position in a Climbing competition in North Zone which was held in Delhi.

Kafeel belongs to Ratnipora village of Pulwama district and studies in Class 9 at Higher Secondary School, Ratnipora.

Kafeel had earlier won Gold Medal in the Climbing competition 23rd UT level Sub-Junior boys which was held at Jammu on September 23 and 24. In this competition, 600 climbers competed for the medal, but Kafeel with his grit and skill topped them and won the Gold Medal.

Following his achievement of a gold medal, he was selected for the North Zone competition at Delhi.

“Today he got the second position by Climbing the wall in 17 seconds, losing the first position by a mere one second,” Syed Abdul Mohsin Manager, Senior coach and Junior Coach Yawer Ahmad Reshi.

Mohsin said Kafeel is competing in lead climbing and Bouldering competitions on Monday and hopefully he will win two more medals, given his determination and training.
