Police organizes sports event for specially abled persons

In its efforts to engage the public and promote sports, Police organized a special Badminton competition for specially abled persons at DPL Kupwara. Moreover, Volleyball tournament which commenced on July 27, concluded on Saturday.

In the Badminton competition, eight specially able girls (Deaf & Mute) participated and showcased their skills and determination. Rizwana Bano and Rifat Jan qualified for the finals of the competition. In the final match, Rizwama emerged as the winner of competition. The event was attended by DySP PC Kupwara Amin Bhat and DySP DAR Kupwara Syed Mujahid-Ul-Haq. Trophies, cash prizes, and consolation medallions were distributed among the winners and participants, celebrating their achievements and encouraging them to pursue their talents.

Moreover, final match of Volleyball Tournament was played at Police Station Sogam. The tournament which commenced on July 27 saw the participation of 12 teams from across the PS Sogam jurisdiction. The final match was contested between Boys High School Putshahi and Army Goodwill School, Chandigam.

In an exciting finish, Boys High School Putshahi emerged as the winners. The closing ceremony was witnessed by SSP Kupwara Shobhit Saksena along with Additional SP Kupwara, DySP PC Lolab and SHO PS Sogam. Trophies and prizes were distributed among the teams and players in recognition of their outstanding performances.

Police continues its support to organize such events under the Civic Action Programme to promote community relations, inclusivity, and provide a platform for all individuals, regardless of their abilities, to prove their mettle.
