The 1st edition of District-Level Residential Trekking Camp for Girls, organized by Department of Youth Services & Sports Anantnag, concluded on Tuesday at world-famous tourist destination Pahalgam, marking the end of an enriching and memorable outdoor experience.
Over the course of the camp, around 90 enthusiastic female trekkers actively participated in various trekking activities under the close supervision of trained officials, expert trekkers, and support staff. The participants explored scenic routes, engaged in recreational activities, and developed essential skills in teamwork, endurance, and environmental awareness.
The camp provided the young trekkers with a unique opportunity to connect with nature, enhance their physical fitness, and build confidence through challenging yet rewarding trekking trails specially curated by the experts accompanying them.
As the first edition of the girls’ trekking camp concludes on a high note, the Department is pleased to announce that the 2nd edition, Trekking Camp for Boys, shall commence from today, continuing the spirit of adventure and outdoor learning for student trekkers of the district.
The DYSSO Anantnag expressed gratitude to all participants, staff members, and expert trekkers for their support in making the event successful. The initiative is part of the department’s ongoing commitment to promoting adventure sports and fostering physical and mental well-being among the youth.
