Open selection trials for Pencak Silat to be held ahead of National Championship

The Pencak Silat Association of Jammu & Kashmir has announced the commencement of open selection trials for both men and women, aged between 17 to 45 years. The trials are scheduled to take place on May 12, 2024, starting at 11 am sharp at the Indoor Hall polo ground in Srinagar.

These trials hold significant importance as they serve as a precursor to the participation of Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory teams in the 12th edition of the Senior National Pencak Silat Championship 2024-25. The national championship is set to be held at KIIT Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from June 10 to June 13, 2024.

Participants are required to carry essential documents including a valid ID proof, recommendations from their district head, a parent declaration, and a medical, health, and insurance certificate. Additionally, two passport-size photographs are mandated for the selection process.

Affiliated District Pencak Silat Associations are urged to confirm their entries for the trials by May 7, 2024, through email or WhatsApp. Entries received after this date will not be entertained.
It is noteworthy that no boarding, lodging, or transportation facilities will be provided during the trials. However, selected athletes will undergo screening by the J&K Sports Council on May 13, 2024, followed by a 21-day coaching camp in Srinagar.

All interested athletes are reminded to adhere to the outlined procedures as per the rules and regulations specified in the notice.
