Nuzhat Gul inaugurates 02 days Khelo India State Wushu League Wushu championship at SKISC

Secretary J&K Sports Council Ms. Nuzhat Gul inaugurated 02 days Khelo India Wushu Women’s league championship at SKISC Srinagar on Thursday.
Approximately 700 girls from 15 districts in all divisions are participating in the 02 days Khelo India State Wushu league championship. Khelo India is the scheme of the Ministry of youth affairs and sports/Sports Authority.
24 Khelo India State Wushu Women’s League championships were organised on 28th and 29th August across the country. Zinal and National League Wushu championships will be organised well before December 2023. Approximately 60 Lakhs of Cash awards will be disbursed among the winning women athletes in all division.
Ms. Nuzhat Gul, Secretary Sports Council, in her speech congratulated Wushu Association of J&K for the organising Khelo India Wushu Womens league championship in the summer capital of UT J&K.
She said it is the need of the hour to encourage and focus on women’s athletes, as the Women athletes of the UT J&K do have great potential and it is the duty of all stake holders to come forward to promote the Women sports in the UT J&K.
J&K Sports council under my youth my pride is organising various sports activities in every nook and corner for the promotion of sports in order to inculcate youth towards sports. Wushu sports has produced so many international Women Wushu athletes, who have earned medals at the international level, like Ayeera Chisti, Munazah Gazi, Sadia Tariq, Kaifa Shah, Ansa Chisti, Jabeena Akhter, Abida from Bandipora & Riya Chib etc.
In her speech, she gave emphasis on making UT J&K Nasha Mukht from drugs with slogan (No to drugs and yes to sports). She congratulated all the participating girls for participation in the mega event and wished them all the very best for the event. In her Speech.
She also wished all the very Best to Surya Bhanu Partap singh and Kuldeep Handoo (Dronacharya Awardee) selected for the 19th Asian Games, the Only player and National chief coach from UT J&K representing country in the highest platform.
During the ceremony outstanding Wushu Demonstration was presented by District Jammu Wushu Association, which was appreciated by the Secretary J&K Sports Council and all the dignitaries present on the occasion.
Earlier, the welcome speech was presented by Maqsood rather Joint Secretary Wushu Association of J&K, He thanked Wushu Association of India for the allotment and J&K Sports council for always supportive to Wushu Sports. The others present on the function were Riyaz Sheikh Adminstrative officer JKSC, Jahangir, Mohd Iqbal, Kamal Kishore, Ajaz Hassan, Appu Jamwal.
The president of Wushu Association of J&K Vijay Saraf and general Secretary Ms. Bhavneet congratulated the organising committee for organising the beautiful and colorful event in the summer capital and all Wished all the very best participants for the event. They thanked Wushu Association of India, Sports Authority of India and J&K Sports Council for the immense support and making this mega event happen.
