J&K cyclists shined in National cycling championship on Thursday by bagging two medals for the State at Kurukshetra, Haryana.
Two J&K cyclists represented the State in 20-kilometre category during 23rd National Road Cycling Championship and both the riders came back with medals. RameezRaza bagged silver medal in the race while as another senior rider of State, Waheed Ahmad bagged bronze medal.
Some of the top riders of the State participating in the ongoing national championship with cyclists like Akber Khan and AdilTeli are set to compete in following days.
From the last five years J&K cyclists, particular those based in Kashmir have been winning medals in the national championship.
“I am happy to finally get medal in the national championship. Over the years, I have missed a medal closely on multiple occasions but this time I was able to finish on podium. Rameez got ahead of me and he is bright future prospect for the cycling in our State,” said Waheed.
