‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’: YSS Department Organises Yoga Competition, Volleyball Match in Sopore

The Youth Services and Sports Department Zone Dangerpora Sopore Tuesday organised a Yoga Competition for girls under-14 and under-17 categories, along with a Volleyball match, as part of the nation-wide campaign ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ with the slogan ‘Sports In, Drugs Out’.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various schools of the zone, with students showcasing their skills, discipline and commitment to a healthy and drug-free lifestyle through Yoga and sports. The competition aimed to promote physical well-being, mental health, and spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse among the youth. Certificates of merit were distributed among the top three performers in the Yoga competition, recognising their outstanding performances and encouraging them to continue pursuing fitness and sportsmanship.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Shabir Ali, who appreciated the efforts of the participating students, school authorities and officials of the Youth Services and Sports Department for making the event a success. He also highlighted the importance of such initiatives in channelising youth energy towards positive and constructive activities. The Youth Services and Sports Department reiterated its commitment to organising more such events in the future under various youth engagement and anti-drug campaigns.
